Description:
If you have a backup camera in your GT-86 vehicle (Subaru BRZ, Scion FRS, or Toyota 86), we sell plug and play adapters to keep this function! (as well as many other functions)
**This adapter will not move/maintain the backup camera for vehicles that display the camera image in the rearview mirror. This modification will require a custom adapter. Please contact us!
This harness adapter maintains many of the features of your stock unit, including connecting your stock backup camera (if you have one) to your new aftermarket headunit.
The backup camera interface will provide 6 vdc to your backup camera for power and will also provide the video signal to the aftermarket headunit.

The following harnesses are recommended for installation of an aftermarket headunit in a 2013-2021 BRZ/FRS/86:
28-pin Harness:
The 28-pin harness will retain:
-Backup camera funtionality
-Auxiliary inputs(***Analog audio input only. USB is not included***)

-E-brake Signal
-OEM speaker amplifier
-Steering Wheel Buttons (2016+ Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 only - The Toyota 86 wiring harness will be pre-wired with a connector to fit the AXXESS ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Interface Module. The Subaru BRZ wiring harness will be shipped with a connector to fit the Maestro SW Steering Wheel Control Interface Module. ***Steering Wheel Control Interface Module must be purchased separately***)
Metra 70-1761 or Direct Wire adapter for Pioneer/Sony/ATOTO:
The Metra 70-1761 harness will retain:
-Speaker connections
-Power/Ground connections
-Illumination Power
If you are installing a Pioneer, ATOTO, or Sony radio receiver, then we recommend that you buy the direct wire adapter. The direct wire adapters will be plug and play for the headunit and will connect directly to the wiring in your car. This makes installtion simpler and allows means that you can install these units without wiring or special tools. To order this part, please make the appropriate selection below under "Are you installing a Pioneer, Sony, or ATOTO headunit?" and the items specific to your situation will appear.
FRS/BRZ/86 USB harness:
The USB harness will retain the USB port in the console.
AM/FM adapter harness:
The AM/FM antenna adapter will retain the AM/FM radio antenna.
These harnesses are 100% plug and play. No splicing the stock wiring harness. Does not disturb stock appearance.
The AM/FM antenna adapter will retain the AM/FM radio antenna.

Option 2 (Upgrade): Direct wire harness for ATOTO Headunits The AHH-70-1761ATOTO harness is the simplest way to install a ATOTO headunit in your vehicle. It is pre-wired with the ATOTO connector on 1 end and the Subaru connector on the other. This will save you lots of soldering! (it has the 28-pin connector attached) It will not retain the backup camera without other adapters. DO NOT ORDER THE AXXESS ASWC-1 or Maestro SW WITH THIS ADAPTER. Installation:
The basics of the installation for the 28-pin harness are depicted here:
Install the harness
-Verify that the vehicle is off.
-Carefully remove the plastic cover around the head unit and unscrew/unbolt as appropriate. Disconnect and remove the stock headunit.
-Connect the connectors on the AutoHarnessHouse.com harness to the corresponding connectors on the vehicle's wiring harness.
-Connect the black ground wire to a ground.
-Connect all other wires as depicted above.
Connect the aftermarket headunit to the harness as follows:
-Connect the purple wire to the back-up lamp input wire on the new headunit. This is the wire that triggers the backup camera when your car is shifted into reverse. There is no need to connect the headunit wire to the backup lamp. This harness provides that connection.
-Connect the yellow RCA connector to the backup camera input connector on the headunit (This is normally a brown connector)
-Connect the red and white RCA connectors to the auxiliary audio input connector on the headunit
Configure the headunit to use the reverse camera:
-This configureation process is different for every headunit. Pioneer headunits normally come preconfigured to accept the camera but it is possible that it must be reconfigured. This is performed by navigating to the home screen and navigating to "System" > "Camera Polarity" > "Battery"
