Where Is the DCM in a 2019 Toyota RAV4?

The DCM — the Data Communication Module, part of Safety Connect / Connected Services — is the module our bypass harness plugs into. Finding it is the only tricky part of the install. Pick your vehicle and we will show you where it lives and what has to come apart to reach it.

Not sure whether your vehicle even has one? Look for an SOS or Call Toyota button near the rear-view mirror or in the overhead console. No button means no DCM — and no need for the bypass harness.

How to get to it

We do not have a verified factory removal procedure for this vehicle yet. The location above is confirmed, but check a service manual for your exact model - or email us and we will help you plan the disassembly before you start.

No SOS button near the rear-view mirror or overhead console means the vehicle was built without Safety Connect - there is no DCM to bypass and this kit is not needed. The 2019 RAV4 is a change-over year: Toyota used BOTH DCM connectors on it, and there is no build-date rule that separates them, so go by the connector itself. White 38-pin: AHH-DCM92. Grey 34-pin and flat: AHH-DCM77. Photograph it before you order and we will confirm which one you need. (2018 and earlier RAV4 have no DCM at all.)
