Where Is the DCM in a 2025 Toyota GR Yaris?

The DCM — the Data Communication Module, part of Safety Connect / Connected Services — is the module our bypass harness plugs into. Finding it is the only tricky part of the install. Pick your vehicle and we will show you where it lives and what has to come apart to reach it.

Not sure whether your vehicle even has one? Look for an SOS or Call Toyota button near the rear-view mirror or in the overhead console. No button means no DCM — and no need for the bypass harness.

Short answer

Under the A/C controls at the base of the centre stack, reached from the shifter opening.

Easy - the gear knob and one trim panel, then reach in. The customer who did it called it a five minute job. No dash work and no airbag work.

Where it is

Low down in the centre stack, directly underneath the A/C control panel, where the stack meets the front of the console. Take the shifter surround out and it is right there in the opening - the connectors face down into the console, with a row of small coaxial antenna leads along the bottom edge of the module. This is a console job, not a dash job.

How to get to it

No dash disassembly at all. Unscrew the gear knob, lift out the shifter surround trim, and the module is in the opening under the A/C controls. A customer who fitted the AHH-DCM77 to his 2025 GR Yaris reported the whole job at about five minutes. We do not have a factory removal procedure for this car, so if anything looks different on yours, email us before you start and we will help you plan it.

The GR Yaris is not sold in North America - this is the Japan / Europe car. The location and the fit are confirmed by a customer install on a 2025. The earlier 2021-2023 GR Yaris has a different console and is not covered here, so email us before ordering for one of those. Note that some European countries expect the SOS system to still appear functional at periodic inspection - worth checking your local rules before you remove the module.
