Where Is the DCM in a 2025 Toyota Corolla?

The DCM — the Data Communication Module, part of Safety Connect / Connected Services — is the module our bypass harness plugs into. Finding it is the only tricky part of the install. Pick your vehicle and we will show you where it lives and what has to come apart to reach it.

Not sure whether your vehicle even has one? Look for an SOS or Call Toyota button near the rear-view mirror or in the overhead console. No button means no DCM — and no need for the bypass harness.

Short answer

Behind the centre dash, just below the radio/display screen.

Easy - two small kick panels and one screw. No head unit removal, no airbag work.

Where it is

Behind the centre dash, immediately below the display screen and toward the driver side of the stack - the same place as the 2021-2022 car.

How it sits: It stands upright with its long edge horizontal - the large flat face points back toward the driver.

How to get to it

No need to remove the head unit - the DCM is reached from below. Pop the small kick panel off each side of the centre console (two clips along the bottom edge plus a tab at the front), then remove the lower centre finish panel with the USB port in it: one screw up under its left edge below the USB, after which it unclips all the way round - unplug the USB lead as it comes out. The module sits right in front of you above the storage cubby with its connectors facing down; a long pick to press the release tabs makes unplugging easy. Verified in a customer's install video on a 2023 GR Corolla - the sedan, hatchback and hybrid are the same basic dash.

No SOS button near the rear-view mirror or overhead console means the vehicle was built without Safety Connect - there is no DCM to bypass and this kit is not needed.
