Where Is the DCM in a 2026 Toyota C-HR?

The DCM — the Data Communication Module, part of Safety Connect / Connected Services — is the module our bypass harness plugs into. Finding it is the only tricky part of the install. Pick your vehicle and we will show you where it lives and what has to come apart to reach it.

Not sure whether your vehicle even has one? Look for an SOS or Call Toyota button near the rear-view mirror or in the overhead console. No button means no DCM — and no need for the bypass harness.

Short answer

Low at the front of the centre console.

Straightforward - one console box and a few bolts.

Where it is

Inside the front of the centre console, down low, right where the console meets the base of the centre stack - the console compartment box comes out to reach it. This is the battery-electric C-HR, built alongside the bZ4X / bZ, and it puts the module in the same place as those cars. It is NOT where the 2018-2022 C-HR had it (that car carried the module at the rear of the console).

How to get to it

The factory procedure removes the console compartment box assembly; the module unbolts with its bracket and two telephone brackets. No dash trim.

Covers the battery-electric C-HR sold in North America. The European hybrid / plug-in C-HR (2024 on) is a different car and its module location has not been confirmed - if you have that car, the front of the centre console is the first place to look, and a photo of the module and its connectors is welcome.

The bypass harness for this vehicle

Our bypass kit disconnects the DCM without losing your front right speaker or the hands-free Bluetooth microphone — the two things that stop working if you simply unplug the module.
