Where Is the DCM in a 2024 Lexus TX350 / TX500h / TX550h+?

The DCM — the Data Communication Module, part of Safety Connect / Connected Services — is the module our bypass harness plugs into. Finding it is the only tricky part of the install. Pick your vehicle and we will show you where it lives and what has to come apart to reach it.

Not sure whether your vehicle even has one? Look for an SOS or Call Toyota button near the rear-view mirror or in the overhead console. No button means no DCM — and no need for the bypass harness.

Short answer

Behind the instrument panel on the driver's side, between the steering column and the centre stack (inferred from Toyota's wiring drawings, not yet confirmed on a car).

Moderate to hard (estimated from the Grand Highlander; not yet confirmed on a TX).

Where it is

Toyota's parts-position drawing for the 2024-2026 TX puts the DCM (telematics transceiver) behind the instrument panel on the driver's side, between the steering column area and the centre stack, near the hazard switch and the driver-side fuse and relay cluster. This is inferred from the drawing only; no owner has confirmed it on a TX yet. The TX shares its platform with the Grand Highlander, where the module sits in the lower dash on the driver's side above the accelerator pedal, so check there first. It is not behind the centre console.

How to get to it

Not confirmed on a TX. On the Grand Highlander, one owner reached the module by removing the lower trim below the knee airbag and raising the steering wheel as far as it goes; the factory procedure there removes the driver's knee airbag. Expect something similar on the TX, and take photos if you do it so we can add them here.

The TX has the same DCM plugs as the Grand Highlander (34-pin grey 90980-12E35, 4-pin white 90980-12B41, 3-pin black USB 90980-12C82), so the AHH-DCM77 is the part. Location is inferred from the 2024-2026 TX wiring drawings; the dash picture shown is the Grand Highlander's, for reference.

The bypass harness for this vehicle

Our bypass kit disconnects the DCM without losing your front right speaker or the hands-free Bluetooth microphone — the two things that stop working if you simply unplug the module.
