Where Is the DCM in a 2018 Lexus LC500 / LC500h / LC500 Convertible?

The DCM — the Data Communication Module, part of Safety Connect / Connected Services — is the module our bypass harness plugs into. Finding it is the only tricky part of the install. Pick your vehicle and we will show you where it lives and what has to come apart to reach it.

Not sure whether your vehicle even has one? Look for an SOS or Call Toyota button near the rear-view mirror or in the overhead console. No button means no DCM — and no need for the bypass harness.

Low in the centre stack, below the radio screen.

The position is read from the factory parts drawing but has not been confirmed on a car yet - ask us before you plan the job.

Where it is

Low in the centre stack, below the radio and display receiver, just above where the centre console starts. It is a dash job, not a console job - come at it from the centre stack.

How to get to it

We do not have the factory removal procedure for this car, so we will not invent a teardown. The position above is read from Toyota's own parts drawing. Email us before you start and we will help you plan it - and if you photograph the module on the way in, we will publish the pictures here.

No SOS button near the rear-view mirror or overhead console means the vehicle was built without Safety Connect - there is no DCM to bypass and this kit is not needed.

The bypass harness for this vehicle

Our bypass kit disconnects the DCM without losing your front right speaker or the hands-free Bluetooth microphone — the two things that stop working if you simply unplug the module.

This vehicle takes one of two harnesses. Built BEFORE April 2020, the connector is the 38-pin white 90980-12817 and you need the AHH-DCM92. Built APRIL 2020 or later, it is the 34-pin grey 90980-12E35 and you need the AHH-DCM77. Check the build date on the driver door jamb, not the model year.
