Where Is the DCM in a 2018 Lexus GS350 / GS450h / GS F?

The DCM — the Data Communication Module, part of Safety Connect / Connected Services — is the module our bypass harness plugs into. Finding it is the only tricky part of the install. Pick your vehicle and we will show you where it lives and what has to come apart to reach it.

Not sure whether your vehicle even has one? Look for an SOS or Call Toyota button near the rear-view mirror or in the overhead console. No button means no DCM — and no need for the bypass harness.

Short answer

In the dash on the passenger side, right of the centre stack.

We have not verified the disassembly for this car yet - the module's position is confirmed, but ask us before you plan the job.

Where it is

Behind the dash on the passenger side, outboard of the centre stack toward the glovebox.

How to get to it

We do not have the factory removal procedure for this car, so we will not invent a teardown. The position above is read from Toyota's own parts drawing. Email us before you start and we will help you plan it - and if you photograph the module on the way in, we will publish the pictures here.

No SOS button near the rear-view mirror or overhead console means the vehicle was built without Safety Connect - there is no DCM to bypass and this kit is not needed. One oddity on this car: the DCM fuse is not in the cabin - Toyota puts it in the luggage-room junction block, so do not go hunting for it under the dash.
