Where Is the DCM in a 2011 Lexus CT200h?

The DCM — the Data Communication Module, part of Safety Connect / Connected Services — is the module our bypass harness plugs into. Finding it is the only tricky part of the install. Pick your vehicle and we will show you where it lives and what has to come apart to reach it.

Behind the centre dash, below the display screen.

Involved - a long trim strip-down ending with the radio out. No airbag work, but set aside an afternoon.

Where it is

In the centre stack behind the dash, below the display - it sits behind the radio / multi-media receiver and comes out after it.

How to get to it

The factory procedure for this generation strips the right-hand dash side panel, the cluster finish garnish, the lower centre dash panel and the console upper panels, then takes out the shift knob, the integration control panel, the A/C control assembly and finally the radio (or multi-media receiver). The module unbolts from behind it with its bracket. Disconnect the negative auxiliary battery terminal first - the procedure also empties the rear deck boxes to reach it.

No SOS button near the rear-view mirror or overhead console means the vehicle was built without Safety Connect - there is no DCM to bypass and this kit is not needed.
