This is the extended-length (18-inch) version of the Subaru AM/FM antenna adapter - a genuine Metra 40-SB10-18. Certain Legacy and Outback models locate the antenna connector farther from the radio, so the standard-length adapter will not reach. This adapter connects your factory antenna to the standard Motorola antenna input on your new aftermarket headunit so you keep clear AM/FM reception after your install.

2005-2009 Legacy and Outback (14-pin radio wiring)
2010-2013 Legacy and Outback (20-pin radio wiring)

Most other Subaru (and Nissan) models use the standard-length AM/FM adapter HERE. Most 20-pin Subaru vehicles do not need an antenna adapter at all.
