38-pin Jumper Adapter for 2022+ Subaru and Toyota GR86 - Backup Camera, Steering Wheel Control and CAN Bus Signals Only

The 38-pin connector on these vehicles carries only the backup camera, steering wheel control (SWC) and CAN bus / data signals. There are no speaker wires, no power and no ground on it, so this adapter cannot be built with speaker breakouts and it will not feed an amplifier, line-output converter (LOC), or subwoofer. If you are adding an amp or a subwoofer, you do not need this part.
The speaker and power connections are on the separate 10-pin and 6-pin radio connectors. For those you want: the 10-pin/6-pin amplifier and subwoofer adapter set (rear speakers and a subwoofer feed), the 16-pin Starlink/telematics jumper (AHH-7880) with AX-LR20 load resistors for the front speakers (on these models the front speaker signals pass through the telematics module), or the 10-pin/6-pin direct wire adapter for a full head unit replacement.
What this adapter is: a 38-pin "jumper" (T-harness) about 5 inches long with a 38-pin connector on each end. It plugs in between the factory 38-pin plug and the back of the head unit and passes every pin straight through, so you can splice your add-on device into the wire you need without cutting the factory wiring. Until you tap a wire, the car works exactly as before.
What is on the 38-pin connector - verified against the Subaru factory I/O specifications for every 2020-2026 model listed below. The pinout is the same on all of them:

On some models (the 2022 Outback, for example) the head unit ignores the pin 8 reverse wire and takes the reverse signal over CAN instead. There is no vehicle speed sensor (VSS) wire on this connector or on the other radio connectors - speed on these cars travels over the CAN bus. The steering wheel pins are normally used with an interface module such as the iDatalink Maestro SW.
Where the speakers and power actually are - the separate 10-pin and 6-pin connectors. These are what our 10-pin/6-pin amplifier and subwoofer adapters and direct wire adapters connect to (on cars with Starlink, the front speaker pair passes through the telematics module - see the 16-pin telematics jumper):

Common uses: retaining the factory backup camera or steering wheel buttons with an aftermarket head unit, adding a steering wheel control interface, connecting a CAN bus module, or building your own custom adapter on the new 38-pin platform. It is normally used together with 10-pin/6-pin adapters, which carry the power and speaker wiring - this part covers the signals those adapters do not.

The 2013-2020 BRZ, 86 and FR-S and all 2016-2019 Subaru models use a 28-pin connector instead of this part. One 38-pin jumper harness, approximately 5 inches long, with a 38-pin connector on each end. It does not include speaker, power or ground wiring, RCA cables, or a steering wheel control interface module.
Installation:
Unplug the factory 38-pin connector from the head unit, plug one end of this adapter into the factory connector and the other end into the head unit (or into your aftermarket head unit's harness), then splice your add-on device into the wires for the pins you need. Nothing on the factory harness gets cut. If you are building your own adapter, the jumper can also be cut in the middle and the two halves used as pigtails for the car side and the head unit side.
Remember that the speaker, power and ground wires are on the 10-pin and 6-pin connectors, not on this one - those connections come from your 10-pin/6-pin adapter.
